Government Moral Risk and the Historic Housing Bubble
Feb 16th
One of the main reasons for the extremely low quality mortgages that fueled the housing bubble was the ability of banks to dump these loans onto the taxpayers. Loans were sold to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, as well as falsely made to qualify for Federal Housing Administration insurance programs. When the government created these programs in order to allow banks to shift risk from the financial companies themselves to the government, moral risk was created and, not surprisingly, banks took advantage by creating more bad loans. Combine this with the easy money policies of the Fed in the 2000s, and no wonder so many bad loans were created and then shifted to government to clean up. If you want to know more about real estate, finance, law, or ERISA attorney, see here. Smaller independent mortgage originators were able to hand out loans with very shady documentation and the largest banks in the country bought up these bad loans knowing they would be transferred almost immediately. The banks also knew that any problems in the loans could be handed off to the government institutions, and any huge problems with the loans they retained would end up in a massive bailout of the financial system. After all, the government stepped in to bail out the financial and banking sectors every other time in the past that there were risks to the largest institutions. Of course, the banks were corrupt. But they relied on government institutions and regulations to absorb as much of the corruption as possible. In fact, you could say that these exact same institutions were a primary cause of the housing bubble and its collapse, along with the money printing going on at the Fed. This is why you should really try to find trustworthy companies for all of your financial and professional services needs, including Mortgage foreclosure help, rather than rely on corrupt banking institutions, politically-connected lawyers, or simply poorly run businesses hoping for an eventual bailout.
Foreclosures Becoming a Huge Problem in Hardest Hit Communities
Feb 13th
As the foreclosure crisis has gone on, one of the big problems has been so many empty houses filling communities. These foreclosed homes are often owned by banks, which means that they will never be maintained and are simply abandoned and ripe for looters or squatters. For more info on visual effects Chicago, click here. Even as foreclosures drag down overall property prices in an area, people sell and move out when they can. Although housing comes down to a more affordable level, the bursting of the real estate bubble has turned a fair number of middle class neighborhoods into borderline ghettos. Police and other government services are cut back due to foreclosures, as property values go down and property tax revenues fall, which just leads to even more increases in crime and squatting in areas hardest hit by foreclosures. The stress of foreclosure can also have health consequences, so see our Local Google Results SEO site for more information.
2011 R+L Carriers Bowl to Become a Classic
Dec 15th
The Louisiana Superdome will come to life on December 17th when the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl kicks off. The San Diego State Aztecs face the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns in a battle for the championship. The Aztecs come into play with an 8-4 record and a 4-3 record in the Mountain West Conference. The Aztecs average 29.8 points per game on offense while allowing 24.4 points per game on defense.
The Aztecs are headed up by senior QB Ryan Lindley (2,740 yards – 52.5 completion pct – 20 td’s / 8 int – 122.9 rating). The running game is in great hands with star sophomore RB Ronnie Hillman (287 carries – 1,656 yards – 19 td’s). Hillman had a 99-yard touchdown run in a losing effort against Wyoming on October 29th. Hillman reminds some watchers of former Aztecs phenom and newest NFL Hall Of Famer Marshall Faulk who also ran up and down opposing players in the early 1990′s.
The Ragin’ Cajuns defense will have their hands full in trying to slow down Ronnie Hillman on the ground. Both defenses will definitely work hard in this shootout of two strong squads. The two-way threat of Gautier versus the ground game of Hillman will be a spectacle. Both schools will want to put a lot of points on the board in this classic.
Money Printing to Fuel New Economic Bubble
Nov 14th
For millions of Americans, 2008-2011 were terrible years, and 2011 has not been going well at all. The employers they work for have been through several rounds of layoffs, a significant decline in sales, and many have filed for bankruptcy or been taken over by the government or other corporate entities. Not only have yearly pay increases not been given, many employees have been offered a pay cut in lieu of being laid off.
The feeling is that, “at least I have my job.” Unfortunately, these jobs can not pay the bills, or allow for any type of career advancement. It leaves millions wondering how they can find a better paying positions in today’s terrible employment situation. The good news is that it seems like the jobs market may be giving signs of life in the future.
The Federal Reserve has been creaint money like there’s no tomorrow, and the stock market may finally be turning around. Although this could well possibly be a fabricated recovery and the beginning of a new bubble, it will be wise to keep an eye out for any new job openings. Companies will finally begin hiring again, especially since local and state governments have been laying off public sector workers.
Joint Pain and Reducing Swelling with MSM Supplements
Nov 11th
For patients dealing with back discomfort, there are a number of supplements and pharmaceutical aids that they can take to decrease soreness or inflammation. While the usual products like aspirin, ibuprofen, and Vitamin C are all widely accepted in reducing swelling and building up the body’s connective tissues and immune reaction, one supplement that has not been given as much attention in helping people suffering from back pain is MSM.
This supplement might help back pain patients move more easily, withstand more stress to their vertebrae, begin a fitness program again, or simply help them move and sit with less discomfort. MSM stands for methyl sulfonylmethane and is present in small amounts in fruits and vegetables. It can be obtained from milk, onions, lettuce, other leafy vegetables, and other plants.
In fact, MSM can help to decrease the pain messages in the nervous system. It is useful as an anti-inflammatory as well as an analgesic. One of the ways it does this is by attaching to the fluid in swollen tissues. It then assists in removing the fluid and swelling, thus decreasing the body’s inflammatory response.
Could Your Slipped Disc Not Be the Source of Back Pain?
Nov 8th
A typical situation with back pain is that patients who suffer from it can usually place a finger or point to an area the problem is felt the worst. While this may indicate where, in general, the tissues and nerves are inflamed more than usual, it is common that no actual tissue damage is found.
So are the nerves simply too sensitized or is there something that chiropractors are missing when examining pain in the back? Pain from an injured back can radiate far from the apparent location of the damage, even all the way down to the legs.
Between 1 and 3 percent of the population shows evidence of bulging discs, but this does not automatically lead to pain. In fact, there are just as many people with a damaged disc who do not have back discomfort as there are people who do suffer from problems. This begs the question, is having a damaged disc in the spine required at all for back pain, or is something different at work?
Can the Texans Keep the Jaguars Under Control?
Nov 1st
After their disappointing records last year, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans are trying to improve in 2011-2012, and they will face each other on the field in Week 8 of the football season.
Both teams were unquestionably bad on defense last season, with the Texans 29th in points allowed and the Jaguars 27th. Both teams, furthermore, have made a lot of improvement on the defensive end through the first seven weeks of this year.
In order to prevail, Houston needs to come out strong and build up a lead if they plan to keep the Jaguars out of the game down the stretch.
Strength and Stability of the Lower Back
Oct 27th
It should come as no surprise to many people that one cause of lower back pain is an overall weakness in certain muscles of the abdomen and the back regions. To be able to lift an object and carry it, various muscles are used to project force, while others are used to stabilize the vertebrae and keep it in a position of low chance of injury.
If any of the muscles are under-used and weakened, in particular the lower back muscles, instability can result and a buckling of the vertebrae can occur even when lifting light objects. Thus, it is important to train all of the relevant tissues of the back to eliminate weaknesses leading to instability.
In fact, no one particular muscle should create too much or too little force or stability when stabilizing the spine in a lift. The muscles must maintain the right balance in order to carry an object without leading to disc herniation or spraining connective tissues.
Why Static Stretching May Increase The Chances of Getting Injured
Oct 18th
Most athletes have adopted stretching as a warm-up technique before they run or perform a workout routine. Moreover, stretching has become nearly mythical in the realm of exercise – stretch before you exercise to warm up, stretch after working out to cool down, and stretch even more if you are feeling injured or strained in any body part.
The commonly held ideas about stretching, however, are no more than myths unsupported by science, and may actually lead to injury. For a variety of reasons, it may be best not to stretch before exercising and instead engage other movements to loosen up. The first reason not to stretch is that the scientific community has found no evidence that it helps prevent tissue damage.

Second, static stretching has been found to damage muscle tissues in athletes who perform the activity. A final reason to throw out stretching before working out is that the activity can raise pain tolerance. This all means that stretching can cause tissue damage itself and then desensitize the damaged muscle as the pain tolerance is increased.
What Happens if a Layaway Agreement is Broken?
Oct 13th
A layaway program allows buyers and businesses to come to an agreement to put aside a specific item while the buyers make regular installment payments. Once the agreed-upon payments have been made in full, the buyers get to transfer possession of the item, and the business may not dispose of the good while it is covered under the layaway plan.
However, there are a couple of issues that buyers should be aware of prior to creating this kind of agreement with a business to buy an item on layaway. For instance, what happens to the installments if the purchasers change their mind or default on the installment payments? Or what if the business goes out of business like Borders did?
In most situations of the buyer defaulting on the installments, the business has no right to keep all of the money paid up to that point. If the purchase is never completed, the payments may not be retained by the business unless there have been damages as a consequence of the agreement being broken. But for most consumer products, this situation must be somewhat rare.
What Happens to Lender Misconduct Claims in an FDIC Takeover?
Oct 11th
There are two main questions that must be clarified once a bank goes out of business and is taken over by the FDIC. The first is whether or not all of the bureaucratic processes of the FDIC must be exhausted by the borrowers before they can have a court evaluate their claims against the bank. The second is which claims bringing up lender misconduct would even survive the legal protections the FDIC enjoys.
In terms of the first issue, statutes dictate the administrative claims process that borrowers must use when a bank fails and is taken over by the FDIC. Importantly, the FDIC has the ability to disallow claims brought by borrowers, but the agency must mail out a notice informing them of their ability to present their claims within a stipulated amount of time (90 days from the date the notice is published). Then the FDIC has another 180 days to decide if it will allow the claim or not.
The second issue relates to which claims would survive a bank takeover. The FDIC enjoys numerous protections against claims that may have been brought against the original lender, most recent mortgage holder, and servicing company. Homeowners and their lawyers will have to address a number of concerns to decide if and what claims would survive.
Almost Everyone Shocked by Strong Showing from New York Giants in 2011
Oct 6th
Four games into the season, the New York Giants are 3 -1 and tied for the division lead with the Washington Redskins, and the only person not shocked by this is head coach Tom Coughlin. Even though it is no secret that the veteran Coughlin is on the hot seat this season due to the Giants disappointing performances in the late part of the last two seasons, he is remaining very positive and optimistic despite his off season losses to free agency and his early season injuries.
Picking it up is exactly what the rest of the team has done, pulling out three fourth quarter wins. On Sunday, the G-Men came back from a 10 point deficit in the final quarter, and pulled out a 31-27 win against Arizona. The difference thus far this season has been a lack of turnovers. Quarterback Eli Manning threw a career high 25 interceptions last season. Thus far, Manning has only tossed two, a stat that will keep the Giants within striking distance of anyone on their schedule. Despite the loss of his two favorite targets to free agency, Steve Smith and Kevin Boss, Manning has been able to prosper and find some new targets.
Both Mario Manningham and Victor Cruz have stepped up and indicated big play potential in the early part of this season. So how good could the G-Men be this season? No one knows. Things do look better, though, and when they return some of their injured players to the defensive side of the ball, watch out, things could get tough for opponents.
How People May Have Back Pain Without Serious Tissue Injury
Oct 4th
Persistent back soreness can be very frustrating to live with because, often, the evidence of tissue damage or injury have little or nothing at all to do with the feelings of pain. While one patient may have soreness and a bulging spinal disc, other people have literally no pain caused by a slipped or herniated disc or even worse damage.
Some patients, however, experience pain while others do not even know that they have any tissue injury at all. Once back pain develops, it can also be hard for the patient and chiropractor to pinpoint where the problem is actually coming from. Too often, the feelings of soreness are experienced in a general area but do not relate well to any particular anatomical feature.
A painful lower back is a real feeling for many people, but the muscles, tendons, discs, and vertebrae of the spine may not indicate any evidence of damage or inflammation. However, the pain persists. And pain, as it becomes more permanent over time, can spread from one area of the body to another.
Is it Still Possible to Get a Loan to Prevent Foreclosure?
Sep 30th
Foreclosure is a costly decision for any mortgage lender. But if they do not get any indication that the debtors wants to work on the problem, they will start taking action to foreclose on the home. For banks, it all comes down to how they can make the most money or avoiding losing any.
For the borrowers facing the loss of their property, a foreclosure loan may be what can help them save their properties. The place to start looking for a foreclosure loan is to request your most recent mortgage broker for referrals. In the past few years, mortgage companies and brokers have been seeing millions of foreclosed loans.
These banks have often developed working relationships with brokers that specialize in foreclosure loans. By getting their defaulted borrowers in touch with such a professional, they may see the loan being paid off through refinancing instead of foreclosure.
Can a Small Injury Turn Into a Chronic Pain Problem?
Sep 27th
In the short run, inflammation is good for the body after tissue damage has been sustained. The swelling and redness are signs of increased circulation and blood flow to the injured tissues.
Without this increase in circulation, it could take much more time to heal from an injury, if full healing would be possible at all. Thus, the body’s inflammation response right after tissue damage that occurs over days or weeks is an attempt to isolate the body part that has sustained the damage.
Changes to the nervous system after an injury, however, may be longer lasting, and quite possibly permanent. In some instances, the body may become more highly sensitive after sustaining damage, as the brain and nerves scan the injured area for more signs of danger, even long after the injury has recovered.
Spinal Cord Compression a More Serious Injury Than Common Back Pain
Sep 23rd
There are various causes of compression to the spinal nerve. Lesions are often the culprit, although adhesions that occur outside the spinal cord are more typical than ones occurring within it.
Force can also cause compressive forces which lead to injury. Tumors and abscesses are another cause which may cause pain developing over several days or weeks.
A bulging disc can also lead to compression, as can protrusions of bone or cartilage into the spinal canal. Despite the fact that the vast majority of people living in the United States will experience some sort of back pain at one time or another during their lives, spinal cord compression is more rare but also much more serious.

How Does Eviction Work After a Foreclosure Sheriff Sale?
Aug 26th
Borrowers still remaining in the house after the confirmation and redemption period will have an eviction action filed against them by the new owner. The steps of this process are determined by state law, as with many other parts of the entire foreclosure.
It is important for former debtors to look up how their state treats occupants remaining after a auction. Some states use the same process that is used to evict tenants from rental homes. Others, however, have special treatment for debtors staying in a foreclosed home.
How to save a home from foreclosure
In either case, though, the lender or purchaser at auction must follow the proper procedures to evict the former owners. If the new owner tries to follow an eviction process that is not appropriate for former owners of a foreclosed house, the action may be thrown out of court until the correct steps are followed.
How Do Mortgage Servicing Companies Harm Homeowners?
Aug 25th
Regardless of how reasonable a loan product homeowners may have been given at the time of closing on a house or refinancing, things can quickly go from bad to worse if a predatory loan servicing company is involved.
These corporations are contracted by large financial investment banks to receive payments on loans and keep track of all of the costs, as well as proceed with a foreclosure if need be. However, their first priority is to maximize the profit of every loan they oversee, which may lead to instances of corruption and fraud.
The servicer eats up the equity by imposing junk fees, and then turns a profit when the property is sold on the market after a foreclosure auction. This results in greater, much quicker cash flow for the investors than if the loan was administered without abuse and paid off over time.

Can You Work Out Less and Still Get Strong?
Aug 19th
One of the most important ideas to remember about weightlifting, running, and exercise in general is that it is not the exact exercise that provides muscle growth and adaptation. Rather, it is the recovery from such training that leads to gains in athleticism.
This means that concentrating on enough rest is extremely important to gaining strength, speed, or endurance. And recovery includes many aspects of training, such as getting enough sleep, eating right, stretching, and soft tissue {modalities|work| like foam rolling and massage.

Thus, if you ever find yourself overly fatigued, it may not be that you failing at lifting enough weight or running enough. In fact, you may just need more time to recover and rest in between intense training days.
Squats, Single Leg Variations, and the Health of Your Lower Back
Aug 17th
Once a staple of nearly every lifter’s workout, squats are coming under attack from various sectors of the fitness and health industries. There has been little evidence to indicate squatting — done with proper form — actually harms one’s back or knees, but single leg workouts are becoming more popular.
In fact, while squats may not directly injure one’s spine, it may be that the strength of the low back is the weakest point in the chain when attempting to lift heavy weights with one’s lower body. Moving to single leg squats or Bulgarian split squats still challenges the legs but takes the lower back out of the equation.
So should you take squats out of your workout routine? Maybe, maybe not. But adding in a few single leg movements can ensure you keep gaining strength and protect the stability of your lower back and spine.
Carefully Consider Payday Advance Loans if You are in Foreclosure
Aug 14th
Once people take out a payday advance loan to make the mortgage, they can easily fall into a cycle of not having enough money to pay back one or the other, and then not having enough money to pay back either loan.
Even if the loan is only a couple hundred dollars, interest rates can be several hundred percent, and the term of the loan is usually very limited. Homeowners may not want to put themselves in a position where they only have two weeks to pay back a loan with an annual 800% interest cost.
We have gotten emails from homeowners in exactly this situation, who first had taken out several payday loans in order to pay the home loan, but wound up having to take out more of them just to pay back the previous loans.
